British DTM driver Gary Paffett will head to his home race of Brands Hatch
for Round Seven of the Championship this weekend (3rd-5th September).
After a strong performance at Zandvoort, which saw Paffett take a lights-to- flag victory, Gary is currently lying second in the Championship with 35 points, just 9 points behind current Championship leader Bruno Spengler.
With five races to go in the 2010 season, the Championship race is well and truly on.
"I am really looking forward to racing at Brands Hatch. As it is my home race the home support will be fantastic and the atmosphere should be great. I am looking to try and build on my win at Zandvoort and will be aiming for at least a podium finish;" commented Paffett.
"Brands Hatch is the shortest circuit on the DTM calendar and is the toughest one for the drivers as there is no straight to get a break from the rest of the field. Paddock Hill bend is one of the most impressive corners in the world and is amazingly fast in a DTM car taken at about 180kph. We will be doing 98 laps of the circuit which is the largest number I have ever seen on my pit board!" continued Paffett.
To celebrate Paffett's home race, a specially designed Gary Paffett t-shirt (designed by motorsport artist Unlap), will be on sale at the Alex Reade store at Brands Hatch, retailing at £20. Gary will available to sign the t-shirts at the store from 15.30 to 16.15 on Saturday 4th September.
