What the drivers and Motorsport chief say
Mika Hkkinen, start number 6 (AMG Mercedes C-Class 2007): At the Lausitzring, my team did an excellent job. I won the race and was able to show the full potential of the new C-Class. It is my target to repeat this in Brands Hatch.
Paul di Resta, start number 19 (JAWA4U.de AMG Mercedes C-Class 2005): If somebody had told me prior to the season that I would travel to my home race in Brands Hatch as the championship leader, it would have been hard for me to believe him. Its like a dream to have accomplished that and I will give it my all to retain the lead in front of my home crowd.
Bruno Spengler, start number 2 (DaimlerChrysler Bank AMG Mercedes C-Class 2007): After two races without points I finally ended up on the podium at the Lausitzring. In Brands Hatch, I want to continue this positive trend. However, with 20 cars on this short circuit it will be a very close-fought race.
Bernd Schneider, start number 1 (Genuine Parts AMG Mercedes C-Class 2007): A total of 82 laps on such a short track require an hour of maximum concentration and are also physically most demanding. There are almost no straights, which would allow you to relax. I am well prepared and I will fight for a podium finish.
Jamie Green, start number 5 (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class 2007): Two sixth positions out of the first three races were less than I had expected this season. In my home race a better result must be possible.
Mathias Lauda, start number 18 (Trilux AMG Mercedes C-Class 2006): I look forward to Brands Hatch, because the British spectators are particularly well informed and enthusiastic. It would be great to achieve a similar result like my seventh place at the Lausitzring.
Gary Paffett, start number 9 (Laureus AMG Mercedes C-Class 2006): 50 kilometres away from my home, there is only one target: I want to score as many points as possible and to show my home crowd a great race, although my car carries again more weight.
Susie Stoddart, start number 14 (TV Spielfilm AMG Mercedes C-Class 2005): I look forward to my home race and hope that with the support of the crowd I will finally finish among the top-ten.
Daniel la Rosa, start number 15 (TrekStor AMG Mercedes C-Class 2006): This track is quite a challenge; however I like it anyway. I expect close gaps within the entire field and I hope for a successful qualifying as a basis for a positive result.
Alexandros Margaritis, start number 10 (stern AMG Mercedes C-Class 2006): Everybody in our team is working hard to grind out last races nick and I will give it my all to score points in Brands Hatch.
Norbert Haug, Vice President Mercedes-Benz Motorsport: 82 laps in a row is something you dont even see in a Formula 1 race. With a length of a little more than 1.9km the Brands Hatch circuit is the shortest on the DTM calendar, but the race there should be even more exciting. There is probably no track with less breathing space for the drivers, and after a couple of laps, there will be probably no situation without traffic. Therefore it will be a real challenge to find the right strategy.
